Birmingham teens arrested after being found with vehicle stealing device by Heartlands Hospital

Two arrests have been made after the incident at Heartlands Hospital car-park

Police arrested two teenagers on suspicion of going equipped after they were found in Heartlands Hospital car-park looking inside cars. 

A device used to steal vehicles, an unbranded key and a knife were also recovered.  The two boys aged 17 and 16 remain in police custody.

Detectives have also charged another teenager with 11 robberies in Birmingham. The 17-year-old has also been charged with a section 18 assault and three counts of possession of a bladed article. The robberies were carried out across the city over the last few months.

He was remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (November 10).

A statement from the force, read: "Reducing robbery is a key element in tackling violence. We are working day and night to protect communities and to tackle this highly traumatic crime.

"Robbery remains a force priority. We will target our activity in known hotspot areas, increasing our visibility and operational activity and arresting those intent on committing crime."
