A walk inside a park is calming and peaceful on most days but at Birmingham’s Handsworth Park between 5 to 6 August, there’s even more to do.
If you want a piece of the calm, a walk or run around the ponds are available, but if you want to participate in the Commonwealth Games 2022 neighbourhood festival, you are in for a treat.
Field hockey, Judo, cricket, dance workshops - are all available to take part in. Adults and children can participate in the arts, sports, and dance workshops.
The venue also has a host of terrific music performances including Muha, a four-piece Ukrainian band producing contemporary Eastern European music and Birmingham Commonwealth Orchestra.
Different cultures intermingled at the venue where you can participate in Tai Chi in one corner and also watch Garba performance in another.
Here’s our picture gallery of all the first day of the festival.
