National Express is providing help to those returning from Greece who have been flown to a different airport in the UK than they flew out from

National Express is offering free coach travel to Greek holiday-makers repatriated to a different airport than they flew out from.

As of Monday (July 24), rescue flights have been bringing holidaymakers home from the Greek islands Corfu and Rhodes which have been hit by wildfires amid a heatwave. The UK government said up to 10,000 Britons are stranded in Rhodes. Others have been affected by the severe weather in Corfu and Evia where evacuations have taken place.

Jet2 and TUI have cancelled flights from Birmingham Airport to Rhodes and are instead operating repatriation flights. Meanwhile, Ryanair reported that flights to/from Rhodes and Corfu are currently operating as normal.

Some of those returning urgently from Greece will have been flown to a different airport in the UK than they flew out from. National Express say they will transport people and their luggage, if they have it, back to their original airport or a different location of their choice within the UK.

They say anyone who has been repatriated and requires a free coach ticket should show proof of their original flight and airport and the boarding pass of the flight they have taken.
