Grammy Awards 2023: Ozzy Osbourne gets nominated in four categories, including Best Rock Song

The Black Sabbath singer released his 13th solo album - Patient Number 9 - in September 2022 and hasreceived four nominations for it at the GRAMMY Awards

Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne has been nominated for GRAMMY Awards 2023 in four categories.

The Birmingham-born Black Sabbath singer, brought up in Aston, released his 13th solo album - Patient Number 9 - in September 2022 and has received acclaim for it since then. He already has three GRAMMY awards and has been nominated eight times.

At the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2014 he won for Best Metal Performance for God is Dead? He won the Best Metal Performance in 2000 for Iron Man and Best Metal Performance With Vocal for I Don’t Want To Change The World in 1994.

The four categories he was nominated in for 2023 shows that despite his age and health conditions, he can still dominate the stage.

The categories are:

  1. Best Rock Performance - Ozzy Osbourne Featuring Jeff Beck - Patient Number 9
  2. Best Metal Performance - Ozzy Osbourne Featuring Tony Iommi - Degradation Rules
  3. Best Rock Song - Ozzy Osbourne Featuring Jeff Beck - Patient Number 9
  4. Best Rock Album - Ozzy Osbourne - Patient Number 9

The 65th GRAMMY Awards will take place on February 5, 2023 from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The 2023 GRAMMYs will broadcast live on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on demand on Paramount+ at 8-11:30 p.m. ET/5-8:30 p.m. PT.

What are the GRAMMMY Awards?

The Grammy Awards are a series of awards presented annually in the United States by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences) to recognize achievement in the music industry.

Winners are selected from more than 25 fields, which cover such genres as pop, rock, rap, R&B, country, reggae, classical, gospel, and jazz, as well as production and postproduction work, including packaging and album notes.

Four general awards are also given for record, album, song of the year, and best new artist; in total more than 75 awards are presented. The honorees receive a golden statuette of a gramophone.
