Fresh yellow heat alert issued for the West Midlands and Shropshire
Railway travel may be disrupted this weekend as UKHSA issues another Yellow Heat-Health Alert.
Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) has warned of potential travel disruptions due to rising temperatures across the West Midlands and wider UK.
The travel authority has warned that the high heat may impact parts of the West Midlands railway network, leading to potential delays.

It comes as the UKHSA issues a new yellow alert for high heat, which is set to come into effect from July 24 to July 26.
Temperatures are expected to reach up to 27C in parts of the West Midlands, with the railway authority warning that it could affect the railways and urging people to “plan ahead and check before you travel”.
A Transport for West Midlands spokesperson said: “The UKHSA has issued a yellow heat-health alert for the West Midlands conurbation from 9am on Friday, July 24, to 9am on Sunday, July 26.
“High temperatures may impact parts of the TfWM network, and could cause travel disruption.”
It comes as the West Midlands services continue to battle against the rising temperatures this month, with more than 11 ‘fires in the open’ being recorded in the last three weeks alone.
The latest spell of hot weather saw a ‘record-breaking’ year for the UK, with temperatures reaching 37.7C in June, breaking the previous June record set in the 1976 heatwave.

Earlier this month, officials warned that the prolonged hot temperatures could place additional stresses on the health services, and pose greater health risks to older people, or those who are vulnerable.
