Shooting of 13 year-old boy in Hockley

West Midlands Police are making a fresh appeal for information following the shooting of a 13 year old boy in Hockley. The shooting happened just before 7pm on Thursday 18th November.

The offenders are said to have been in a black SUV type vehicle which was seen near the entrance of Travis Perkins building supplies on South Road prior to the shooting.

A drugs farm with over 1.455 cannabis plants was uncovered by police following a raid in Sparkbrook. The Sparkbrook impact team raided the industrial unit on Fulham road, arresting a 17 year old boy on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

Dozens of A roads in Birmingham in dire need of repair

Department for Transport data shows that dozens of Birmingham’s A roads are in dire need of repair, with 5% being placed in the worst condition category. The proportion of roads in poor condition is above the national average with one in every 20 miles in need of repair.
