Fatal road collision on the Coventry Road in Sheldon as pedestrian dies

A 60 year-old pedestrian dies at the scene after being hit by a car on Coventry Road in Sheldon.

West Midlands Police said the incident happened on Saturday night (October 15). The man died despite the best efforts of people nearby and paramedics.

The driver of the car is assisting them with their inquiries. The A45 was closed in both directions at 8.48pm. It has since reopened.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We’d encourage anyone witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact us via Live Chat the West Midlands Police website or call us on 101 quoting log number 3768 of 15 October.”
