Erdington: shocking moment machete thugs rob children’s toys from a delivery van

This is the shocking moment a gang of machete-wielding thugs callously robbed boxes of CHILDREN’S TOYS off the back of a delivery van.

The thieves were filmed casually helping themselves from the parked up UCH Logistics truck in Erdington on Thursday afternoon (May 19).

The balaclava-clad thieves can been seen then brazenly loading their loot into the back of a dark blue saloon car before they speed away from the scene in broad daylight.

A stunned member of the public can be heard saying: "They’ve got machetes on them.

"Robbing kid’s toys off the back of a f***ing van with machetes. Look at this. F**ing madness."

A force spokeswoman said: "We’re investigating after a truck containing children’s toys was stolen at knife point.

"It happened on May 19 on Sir Benjamin Stone Way, Birmingham at about 1.30pm.

"Luckily no one was hurt. Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information about what happened should get in touch via Live Chat or 101.

Where has the viral footage come from?

The footage, obtained by the Birmz Is Grime blog, was filmed on Sir Benjamin Stone Way at around 1.30pm.

It shows the offenders transferring at least nine large white boxes into the getaway vehicle while one onlooker shouts: "Get me one."

The video has since been viewed more 50,000 times on social media with web users expressing shock at the audacity of the raid.

One person wrote: "Brazen as anything, just another casual day at the office. It’s shocking how much this sort of behaviour is becoming the norm."

Another added: "Yeah you can’t believe the audacity of it can you. This is becoming too common, no f**s given at all."

A third web user said: "Where on earth was the driver and why did he leave his van completely open. Something smells fishy?"

One woman commented: "Horrendous behaviour. Society breaking down in its finest glory!"
