Erdington butchers raided - three arrested

Three teenagers were arrested in the early hours of this morning (13 April) minutes after it’s alleged they broke into a Birmingham butchers.
Night time security staff at a nearby shop alerted police to the High Street, Erdington, burglary at 1.30am.

Hide AdThree offenders had used a brick to smash their way inside before stealing items and running off.


West Midlands Police liaised with CCTV operators to look out for the fleeing suspects and cameras picked them up running into Barnabas Road.
Officers searched the area and arrested a man aged 18 and two 16-year-olds in South Road.
A large knife was also found discarded nearby and a screwdriver.

Hide AdAll three have been arrested for burglary and knife possession. They remain in custody today (Wednesday) for questioning.
A spokesman for the force, said: “A great result and team work between the CCTV operators and our officers meant they were arrested just 15 minutes after we’d received the initial 999 call.
“We have officers out and about on patrols 24-7 to deter crime and catch offenders.
“Sometimes you won’t know we’re there because we have many unmarked police vehicles on the roads. We’re doing our best to keep you safe and we appreciate your support.”
