The Easter Holidays are just around the corner, and many pupils across Birmingham will be looking forward to over two weeks away from the classroom.

When it comes to school holidays, weather is one of the most important factors.

With this in mind, here is how the weather is looking in Birmingham for the Easter Holidays and the Bank Holiday weekend according to weather website Accuweather.

What is the forecast for the Easter school holidays in Birmingham?

School children in Birmingham finish for the Easter holidays on 8 April, and the first few days of the break are likely to be mixed with rain and showers lingering until 10 April.

The first full week of the holidays will be mild, with temperatures potentially reaching 14°C in parts of the city.

The rest of the week looks to have a steady high of 11°C with sunny spells on most days and, thankfully, little rain is on the horizon at the moment.

On 19 April, following the Easter weekend, there will be periods of both clouds and sun with a high of 13°C.

This will fall slightly for the rest of the week and we may see less sunshine, but temperatures should still remain in double figures.

Friday 22 April, the last day of the holiday, could be wet and breezy for many in Birmingham.

What is the forecast for the Easter weekend?

With Easter taking place in mid-April this year, many will be hoping for a genuine Spring time feel.

Here is what the weather potentially has in store for each day of the Easter weekend.

Friday 15 April

Good Friday looks set to be a relatively warm day, with temperatures set to peak at 17°C.

Light wind gusts will make the day feel slightly cooler, and there may be only one or two stray showers in the afternoon.

Temperatures will fall to around 8°C during the night but could feel as cold as 5°C in places.

Saturday 16 April

A high temperature of 18°C will be reached in Birmingham on Saturday, and there will be a mixture of cloud and sunshine throughout the day.

Wind gusts of around 20mph will make the day feel cooler, but the ‘feels like’ temperature should still be well into double figures.

Saturday night will see the clouds break up, leading to cooler temperatures of 5°C and a ‘feels like’ temperature of 2°C.

The 20mph gusts will remain, but should ease as we head into Sunday.

Sunday 17 April

Easter Sunday will be a sunny start, with temperatures of 17°C, however there will be spells of rain during the day.

The ‘feels like’ temperature should still be around 16°C, making for a day which shouldn’t be too cold.

The night will see temperatures drop to around 5°C, but cloud cover should prevent it from feeling too cold.

It looks set to be a dry night in Birmingham, too.

Monday 18 April

The last day of the bank holiday weekend will be mostly cloudy with little chance of seeing the sun.

Wind gusts of around 25mph will bring a somewhat cooler feel throughout the day.

For the night, the rain will stay away and temperatures look set to drop to around 2°C.
