Stourbridge factory fire: road closures in place after blaze in derelict factory

A number of road closures are in place in the Black Country after a massive factory fire and people have been asked to avoid the area. Local residents were asked to keep windows and doors closed.

A factory on the junction of Crabbe st and Pearson Road in Stourbridge had a fire outbreak today (January 21). Road closures will remain in place until tomorrow (January 22) for Balds Lane, Careless Green, and Pearson Street.

Fire fighters are battling the blaze and thirty firefighters reached the spot around 12:30pm.

Previously, West Midlands Fire Service said in a tweet: “West Midlands Fire Service are currently in attendance at a severe factory fire on the junction of Crabbe Street and Pearson Street Stourbridge. Please avoid the area as road closures are in place. Local residents are asked to keep windows and doors closed.”

The incident took place at a derelict factory, and the fire service have made good progress.
