A bull dog attacked a woman while she was in her wheelchair and accompanied by her assistance dog in a Country Park in Birmingham

Police said the woman, aged 50, was attacked by a white American bulldog while it was off the lead on Friday, February 16 in Sheldon Country Park.

Her body, arms and legs were injured during the attack between 11am and 2pm while the dog was supervised by a petite framed woman - described as white, in her 30s and wearing a dark puffa style coat.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a woman was attacked by a dog in Sheldon Country Park on Friday 16 February. The woman, who is in a wheelchair, was with her assistance dog when she was attacked. 

“The dog, described as being a white American bull dog, was off the lead when it bit the 50-year-old causing injuries to her body, arms and legs.   It is believed that at the time of the attack, which took place at some point between 11am and 2pm, the dog was being supervised by a petite framed woman who was described as white, in her 30s and wearing a dark puffa style coat.
