A large number of people are expected to attend the funeral on Friday (June 2) of motorcyclist Paul Skidmore who died in a crash in Kingswinford on 21 March.

The 19-year-old died after the crash involving a van on Stream Road. A 17-year-old was arrested at the following vigil which was held for Paul for assaulting a police officer.

There will be a police presence provided by local officers during the funeral. West Midlands Police said this is with the full consent of Paul’s family.

The dispersal order will take effect from 8pm tonight ahead of the funeral tomorrow.

A statement from the force, read: “We urge mourners to attend in a safe and responsible manner. We will not tolerate dangerous driving, disorder or anti-social behaviour.

“We will have a dispersal order in place from 8pm this evening, Thursday 1 June, until 8pm on Saturday 3 June in Kingswinford on Stream Road at the junction of Glynne Avenue. The order is in place to reduce harassment, alarm and distress to people.”
