Digbeth hit and run

An unqualified driver who killed a man in a hit and run crash has been jailed. Raihan Ahmed was driving at more than double the speed limit when he flew over a bridge and hit Ghulam Nabi on Great Barr Street in Digbeth. The 20 year old was convicted of causing death by dangerous driving and sentenced to three years and eight months.

Erdington cannabis factory

A cannabis factory was discovered in Erdington following a police raid. The growing operation spanned across four rooms, all partially hidden by ‘false walls’. The amount of cannabis is said to be worth almost £60,000 and three men have been arrested.

Lastest Covid rates for Birmingham

According to this weeks update of Covid-19 case rates for local authorities, Birmingham’s Covid rate remains as the lowest in the West Midlands region, with 269.7 cases out of 100,000, based on the release of figures for the seven days to November 5th.
