Two former Birmingham school staff arrested on suspicion of sexual offences with children

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of sexual offences involving children.

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a child, and a man was held on suspicion of sexual communication with a child.

The arrests happened in July and the alleged offences relate to a time when the pair worked at a school in Birmingham.

They are no longer employed there.

Both have been released on bail with conditions while the investigation continues.

West Midlands Police said they are “supporting the children and the school involved and are liaising with the relevant authorities”.
