Man charged with murder after injured woman dies in Birmingham

Police have charged a man with murder after his mother who was found with serious injuries in Soho, Birmingham, died.

An investigation was launched after the woman in her 70s was found injured at an address in Clarence Road at around 1pm on Friday.

She was taken to hospital but later died. A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Our sympathies are with her loved ones.”

A man in his 30s was arrested on Friday.

Surjit Kaulam, aged 38, is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today charged with murder.
