Increased police patrols in Castle Vale in Birmingham as teen suspects are bailed

Police are continuing to investigate a report of an armed group chasing another man into a shop on the High Street in Castle Vale in Birmingham.
Detectives have been investigating the report which included a suggestion that a firearm may have been discharged on April 5.

Hide AdOfficers made two arrests as part of their investigation and have now bailed a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “Our enquiries so far have revealed that no-one was injured in the Castle Vale incident. Cartridges that have been recovered nearby have been sent off to be forensically examined to see if they are linked to the incident.
“Although there have been arrests, this is not the end of our enquiries and we would like to reassure the local community, businesses, and local residents that we will continue our work in the area to uncover what happened that night.
“We will also be working hard to ensure that anyone involved is brought to justice. We have spoken to witnesses but would also appeal to anyone who has any information or footage that could help our investigation to contact us.”
