Police name Birmingham Stratford Road mosque burglary suspect

Police have charged a man over a burglary at a mosque on Stratford Road in Birmingham. 

Officers told how they received a report that a money box was stolen from the mosque at around 2.40am on March 20 - during the holy month of Ramadan. An intruder had managed to get into the mosque before making off with the cash. 

Now West Midlands Police say Stephen Watson-Castle, aged 38, of Sparkbrook, has been charged with burglary and remanded in custody to appear before city magistrates today (Friday, March 22). The mosque has not been named by police.
