Police have charged two men after officers were threatened with a gun in The Radleys, near Marston Green in Birmingham.

The arrests were made after police stopped a car in the city following the incident in the early hours of last Monday, February 19. Suspects pointed a weapon at officers before making off in a vehicle, police said.

A spokesperson for WMP added: “Following enquiries we've now arrested and charged two men with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.”

Andrew Beckett, aged 36 from Solihull, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday where he was remanded to appear before Birmingham Crown Court on March 22.

Anthony Briscoe, aged 37 from Birmingham, appeared before magistrates on Saturday and was released on bail to also appear at Birmingham Crown Court on March 22.

The WMP spokesperson added: “Op Target is West Midlands Police's response to tackle serious and organised crime. We are specifically working to identify criminals involved in serious organised crime and bring them to justice, while preventing people from falling victim to some of their traumatic or harmful crimes.
