A man has been convicted after a historic Birmingham church was burgled earlier this month. Craig Tombs broke into St Nicholas’ Church at The Green in Kings Norton and stole valuable items on Tuesday last week (March 19). The 41-year-old smashed a stained-glass window before stealing the items and making his escape.

Tombs was identified through CCTV enquiries and on Saturday (March 23) a BMW was stopped in Clover Road, Weoley Castle, and he was arrested.
