Birmingham police name man Coventry Road knife crime suspect

A man has been charged with robbery and making threats with a bladed article in a public place following a range of incidents around Coventry Road, Birmingham.

Birmingham Police have named the suspect as Terry Elsmore, aged 40, of Brays Road, Sheldon. He was arrested on March 10. Following enquiries, he was also charged with theft and burglary.

Elsmore was remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court yesterday (March 12). A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “Reducing robbery is a force priority for us and we’re running Operation Ruby to tackle those committing these crimes.

“From the initial call to report a robbery, right through to charging offenders to court – Operation Ruby is looking at processes and improvements we can make in the service we provide to victims.
