West Midlands Police has named a man from Birmingham charged with car theft offences

West Midlands Police has charged a 21-year-old man following warrants that were carried out in Birmingham yesterday (Wednesday, May 8).

Mohammed Haydar is due before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today, charged with conspiracy to steal from motor vehicles, and two offences of going equipped for theft.

Haydar is accused of 14 car stripping offences (also known as car cannibalism) between March 2023 and April 2024.

A spokesperson for WMP said: “We take vehicle crime seriously, and we ask that if anyone has any information about chop shops or car cannibalism, to contact us via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101.”
