Shopper sought by police after a woman reported being sexually assaulted at a Birmingham bus stop

West Midlands Police has issued of a photo of a man they want to speak with after the received a report of a sexual assault at a bus stop in Birmingham

Carrying a bag of shopping near the door of a Birmingham shop while looking to the side of the store, the man’s face can clearly be seen underneath his hat.

He is wanted by West Midlands Police as they investigate a report of sexual assault at a bus stop on Soho Road.

The incident happened shortly after 6pm on February 7. Officers explained that the woman told them that a man ‘tried to touch her inappropriately’. She managed to escape and successfully boarded the bus. Police have not identified the shop - of which bus stop on the Soho Road where the incident took place.

A spokesperson for WMP said: “Recognise this man? We want to talk to him after a woman reported being sexually assaulted in Birmingham. On 7 Feb this year, shortly after 6pm, the woman was waiting at a bus stop in Soho Road when she was approached by a man who tried to touch her inappropriately.

“She got away and managed to get onto the bus, and we are now appealing to try and find the man. If you have any information, call us on 101 or use Live Chat quoting crime number 20/223178/24.”
