Gunshots and stabbing in Aston: Police arrest 21-year-old suspect after violent disorder

Police are investigating a violent disorder in Aston where gunshots were fired and a 21-year-old man was stabbed. The suspect has been arrested and police are reviewing CCTV to identify more individuals involved.

Police were called to the junction of Witton Road and Endicott Road at just after 7.45pm yesterday (12 October).

Those involved had already left the area but police have since recovered evidence of a gun having been discharged.

A short time after the disorder a 21-year-old man presented at hospital with stab wounds which were not serious.

Following initial enquiries he is suspected of being involved in the disorder.

He has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and will now be questioned.

Police say they know how concerning such incidents are and are reviewing CCTV - alongside other enquiries - to identify everyone who was involved.

No-one else is known to have been injured at this stage but officers have stepped up reassurance patrols in the area.
