Covid rates have taken a significant fall across the West Midlands, but health chiefs have urged that people remain vigilant. This dip in cases mirrors the rest of the UK, where only 17% of local areas have witnessed an increase in cases over the past few weeks. However many experts believe that a fourth wave is likely in January following a temporary dip during the Christmas period.

Green Homes Grant scheme ends

Just 1,609 people across the Black Country and Staffordshire took advantage of a £1.5 billion government scheme to make their homes more energy efficient.

The Green Homes Grant scheme endeavoured to improve tens of thousands of homes across the West Midlands, was scrapped in March in favour of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
