Covid rates fall the the West Midlands

The West Midlands has seen a fall in Covid rates for the first time in several weeks. Meanwhile it has been revealed that covid testing centres across the region will be closing earlier. A government spokesperson has said less demand for PCR walk in tests is the reason. But the move, which affects all of England, has been criticised by some including Wolverhampton South East MP Pat McFadden.

Concerns raised over ambulance handover times

Health chiefs have raised concerns that ambulance delays are putting some patients at "catastrophic risk" of harm as a result of handover delays at West Midlands hospitals. At a meeting this week West Midlands Ambulance Service chiefs heard delays had reached previously unseen levels, with some patients said to have been left waiting for ten hours.
