Positive coronavirus tests in the UK have fallen rapidly, official figures show.

There were 430,806 new cases in the week ending February 10, a 28% fall on the number seen the week before.

The figures include both positive PCR and lateral flow tests.

They include people who have been reinfected with Covid-19 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland but do not yet count reinfections in Scotland.

At a regional level, Northern Ireland had the highest case rate in the week to February 10, at 1227.1 cases per 100,000 residents.

This was followed by the South West of England, with 824.1 cases per 100,000 residents.

The lowest case rate was in Wales, with 337.4 cases per 100,000 residents.

Only five neighbourhoods in Birmingham have seen an increase in cases over the last week - you can see which ones below.

Selly Oak has seen case rates of positive Covid cases rise by 34.6% from 874.1 cases per 100,000 people to 1176.7.

2. Central Birmingham

Central has seen case rates of positive Covid cases rise by 34.3% from 392.2 cases per 100,000 people to 526.6.

3. Short Heath

Short Heath has seen case rates of positive Covid cases rise by 15.2% from 402.8 cases per 100,000 people to 463.9.

4. Edgbaston South & University

Edgbaston South & University has seen case rates of positive Covid cases rise by 14.3% from 866.9 cases per 100,000 people to 990.8.

5. Nechells

Biggest fall

Here are the neighbourhoods in Birmingham with the biggest drop in case rates in the past week.

1. Little Bromwich

Little Bromwich has seen case rates of positive Covid cases fall by 69.7% from 371.2 cases per 100,000 people to 112.5.

2. Perry Barr & South Hamstead

Perry Barr & South Hamstead has seen case rates of positive Covid cases fall by 68.5% from 650.8 cases per 100,000 people to 204.9.

3. Hill Hook

4. Four Oaks

Four Oaks has seen case rates of positive Covid cases fall by 64.9% from 1059.3 cases per 100,000 people to 372.2.

5. Greet & Sparkhill South

Greet & Sparkhill South has seen case rates of positive Covid cases fall by 64.9% from 474.6 cases per 100,00 people to 166.8.
