With food prices rising by 2.7% in the last month due, in part to inflation rising by 5.4%, BirminghamWorld decided to hit the supermarket to put the findings to the test.

Reporter Lauren Tiller discovered prices have risen hugely from this time last year, using a price comparison from recipe book author and activist Jack Munro, who’s tweet thread on the issue went viral.
