Constance Marten: missing mum was dating registered sex offender from Birmingham in the US

A British mum, who was estranged from her Aristocratic father, has been missing for 12 days along with her baby and partner. She was reportedly dating a registered sex offender born in Birmingham.

Constance Marten, 35, is missing along with her British partner Mark Gordon, 48, who was jailed for 20 years in the US for a sex offence. He reportedly took a neighbour hostage when he was just 14.

Gordon was born in Birmingham, moved to the US with his mother and his half-siblings in 1989, according to the Daily Mail. In April 1989, when he was 14, he attacked his neighbour and sexually assaulted her. Gordon is said to have broken through the woman’s bathroom window, Daily Mail quotes US court records as saying.

After serving 20 years in prison, he was deported back to the UK in 2010. Gordon, Marten and her child have been missing for almost two weeks now and are believed to be on the run in the UK.

Marten’s father, Napier Marten - a film and music producer with links to the Royal Family - told the Independent: “I want you to understand that you are much much loved whatever the circumstances. We are deeply concerned for your and your baby’s welfare.”

Constance was a drama student and met Gordon in 2016 after which she reportedly started living an isolated life, cutting ties with family and friends.

Her father said: “The past eight years have been beyond painful for all the family as well as your friends, as they must have been for you. And to see you so vulnerable again is testing in the extreme.”

When was Constance Marten last seen?

The 35-year-old mother was last seen on January 5 when the couple’s car broke down and caught fire on the M61 near Farnworth, Bolton, according to the Guardian. Police believe the baby could have been born in the car.

The couple were seen in Essex, Kent and London. It’s believed that Constance and her baby have not received medical care since the birth.
