Demonstrators travelled from across the country to join protests against the Conservative Party in Birmingham as the Tory conference got underway at the International Conference Centre (ICC) on Broad Street.
Some dressed up as the Prime Minister Liz Truss and her Secretary of State for Health Therese Coffey. Others waved placards with slogans showing their anger at the policies being implemented by the Government so far.
The rally was organised by the People’s Assembly and Midlands TUC. Mick Lynch, general secretary of the RMT was among the speakers. The demonstration follows a train strike that was held yesterday (Saturday, October 1).
Some protesters heckled Jacob Rees Mogg as he made his way through Victoria Square. After a series of speeches the protesters marched through Birmingham city centre.
