A 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault

Police are appealing for information after a teenage girl was assaulted near Chelmsley Wood shopping centre in Solihull last month.

The girl was assaulted near KFC on Chelmsley Circle on Thursday, 3 February.

West Midlands Police said she was helped by a woman who was getting off a bus and the youngster didn’t suffer serious injuries.

A spokesman for the force, said: “Were you at Chelmsley Wood shopping centre last month and saw a teenage girl being attacked with a metal weapon?

“We’re investigating after the girl was assaulted by someone she knew at a bus stop near KFC on Chelmsley Circle on Thursday, 3 February at about 2.30pm

“We’re working to establish exactly what happened and a 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault. Following questioning he was released on bail as those enquiries continue.
