Carjackers threaten driver with a firearm in Oldbury but are stopped in Small Heath

A man was threatened with a firearm and ordered to hand over his car keys in Bloxcidge Street in Oldbury at just before 4.10am today (Wednesday, May 10).
The Toyota was taken but West Midlands Police teams worked together to track and stop the car near Small Heath, Birmingham, within half an hour.

Hide AdPolice said they found a gun – which has now been confirmed as a BB gun – and a knife inside the vehicle and further forensic examinations are taking place.
Officers arrested two 16-year-old boys on suspicion of robbery. They have been taken into custody for questioning.
West Midlands Police said: “We’ve arrested two teenagers and recovered weapons after promptly stopping a stolen vehicle within half-an-hour of a carjacking in Oldbury.
“A man was threatened with a firearm and ordered to hand over his car keys in Bloxcidge Street at just before 4.10am today.
“The Toyota was taken but our teams worked together to track and stop the car near Small Heath, Birmingham.”
