Place names across Britain are full of phonetic traps we can be forgiven for occasionally tripping over. Named over the years throughout the development of our language, often the way they’re written don’t appear to match up with our modern pronunciations.
So we put Brummies to the test to see if they struggle to pronounce some of the most troublesome place names in our region. You can hear how they got on at the top of our story. Let us know if there are any places near you which are often mispronounced.
