To mark 100 days until it begins, tickets for the 2022 Commonwealth Games are back on sale.

Tuesday 19 April is the last major ticket release before the games begin in July.

With 289 sessions of sport across 11 days, the Birmingham games will have the biggest sports programme ever seen at a Commonwealth Games.

Here’s all you need to know following the ticket release, including how you can get hold of tickets and how much they cost.

When are the Commonwealth Games 2022?

The games will take place across 11 days in Birmingham this summer.

The event begins on Thursday, 28 July and is set to conclude on Monday, 8 August.

Where in Birmingham are events taking place?

Across the 11 day celebration of sport, 15 venues in Birmingham and the surrounding area will host sessions.

Is there an event schedule?

A full, comprehensive guide to which sport is happening when and where has been released for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The first event of the games is due to be Lawn Bowls and Para Lawn Bowls which will get underway at Victoria Park in Leamington Spa at 8.30am on 29 July.

The opening ceremony of the games is due to begin at 7pm on Thursday, 28 July at the Alexander Stadium.

The closing ceremony will begin at 8pm on Monday, 8 August and finish at approximately 10pm.

How can I get tickets?

Tickets for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham are on sale through the official website of the games.

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase tickets.

When entering the ticket portal of the Commonwealth Games website, you will be added to a virtual queue.

Your position in the queue will be displayed by a blue bar towards the bottom of the screen.

When it is your turn to look at tickets, you will be given 10 minutes to enter the portal and begin your order.

Some sessions now have limited availability. As of 19 April, these sessions included the Opening Ceremony, Aquatics - Diving, Aquatics - Swimming and Para Swimming and Cycling - Track and Para Track.

You will be asked to sign in or make an account when you reach the front of the queue. Once you have done either of these, you will be able to enter and start your ticket purchasing session.

How much are tickets?

Ticket prices for the games vary depending on which event you want to attend.

Adult prices start from £15 and child tickets from £8.

Tickets to some events, such as Table Tennis and Para Table Tennis at the NEC and T20 Cricket at Edgbaston, will cost no more than £22.

Ticket prices for all events will be listed on both the events schedule and the ticket purchasing portal.
