Solihull's motorists will have 25 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Solihull's motorists will have 25 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 12 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 23 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A446, from 9pm July 26 to 5am September 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, jct 4A to M42 both directions jct 8, lane closures with closure of link roads for HS2 works.

A45, from 9.30am August 29 to 3.30pm September 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A45 East Way jct Middle Bickenhill lane, two-way traffic signal closure for cabling works HS2.

M42, from midnight, August 15 to 11.59pm October 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A45 East Way from M42 southbound, jct six exit slip to A45 East way roundabout link, Lane closure 24/7 on link road for major scheme.

M42, from 8pm August 14 to 5am November 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 both directions jct five to jct six, carriageway closure for structure gantry construction.

A446, from 10pm November 25 2022 to 5am December 19 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 northbound, link road from M6 jct 4A to M42 jct 8, closure of link roads for carriageway and traffic management maintenance works for HS2.

A45, from 9am July 31 to 11.59pm December 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A45 both direction Middle Bickenhill slip road to East way , multiway traffic signals for construction improvement/upgrade.

A435, from 8pm May 2 to 6am December 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 both directions ct 3A to jct 7, Lane and carriageway closures for inspection survey for upgrading.

A45, from 9pm August 23 2021 to 5am January 31 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 southbound, junction 9 to M6 northbound, link road, Lane closure and link road closure for HS2 scheme work.

M42, from midnight, January 31 2022 to 11.59pm January 31 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42, junction 5 to junction 7, northbound and southbound, various lane closures and slip road closures with temporary speed limits for new underpass construction.

A45, from 9am August 29 2022 to 11pm February 29 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A45 / M42, junction 6 roundabout and approaches, traffic signals on roundabout for underpass construction works.

A46, from 9.30am March 28 2022 to 4pm April 1 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 both directions stoneleigh junction, lane closures and temporary speed limit for new bridge construction.

M40, from 9pm January 9 2023 to 6am April 10 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 both directions M42 jct two to M42 jct five and M42 jct 3A to M40 jct 15, 24/7 Lane or hard shoulder closures, narrow lanes and single lane running with 50mph speed limi for Installation of central reserve concrete barrier, new technology, surfacing and road markings, and emergency refuge areas.

M42, from 9pm March 23 2023 to 6am April 10 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 both directions jct four entry slips, 24 hour lane closure for central reservation works.

A446, from 8pm July 23 2023 to 6am June 8 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A446 southbound, Biddles loop exit slip road, carriageway closure for barrier works.

M6, from midnight, August 15 2022 to 6am July 15 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 4A to 4 southbound and junction 4 south exit slip, lane closure for bridge construction works for HS2.

M42, from 9pm July 17 2023 to 6am July 19 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 northbound, jct six to jct seven, lane closures for installation of temporary safety barrier for HS2 works.

M42, from 11.59pm May 10 2023 to 5am March 7 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 northbound, jct seven link to M6 northbound, lane closure with switching for construction works.

A45, from midnight, August 29 2023 to midnight, July 16 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A45 eastbound, Bickenhill Interchange to East Way, 24/7 carriageway closure for carriageway reconstruction/renewal.

M6, from midnight, June 14 2023 to 6am August 1 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 both directions, junction 4 to junction 4A, Lane closure with switching and narrow lanes with speed restriction for construction of overbridge for HS2 scheme.

M42, from midnight, August 1 2023 to 6am November 1 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 both directions, junction 6 to jct 7A, Lane closures with switching, narrow lanes and 50mph speed limit Viaduct Bridge Beams installation works for major Scheme.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A45, from 9pm September 5 to 6am September 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 southbound, jct eight link to M6 northbound, jct 4A, Lane and link road closure for electrical and signs works.

M42, from 8pm September 18 to 6am September 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 northbound, junction 7 to junction 8, carriageway closure for white lining/road markings.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
