New Years’ Eve isn’t far away and- with Christmas preparations at the forefront of people’s minds NYE celebrations can be easily forgotten. So, to make sure you get your new year started in style, we’ve put together a list of Birmingham events that fit the bill.

Across the globe, New Year’s Eve is celebrated with dancing, eating, drinking, and fireworks, and the UK is no different. While there are always those who prefer a quiet night in front of the TV, there are always plenty of revellers hoping to start their new year off with more of a bang.

And this year, perhaps even more so. For two years in a row, New Year’s Eve has been marred by the Covid-19 pandemic. This makes 2022 an even more special occasion

Back To The Eighties NYE Party at World Bar

When: 7pm to 2am

Where: The World Bar, Resorts World, Pendigo Way, Marston Green, Birmingham.

At this 80s themed night at The World Bar, you’re encouraged to wear your best 80s clothes. If you have a double denim outfit collecting dust in your wardrobe, now is the time to dig it out!

Throughout the evening expect a buffet, live 80s tribute band and  DJ to keep you dancing long after Big Ben’s bongs have gone. And that’s not all - you’ll also receive a free glass of prosecco or beer upon entry.

NYE Comedy Special

When: 6.10pm to 7.30pm

Where: Just the Tonic Comedy Club 259-262 Broad Street, Birmingham.

The New Year’s Eve Comedy Special at Just the Tonic Comedy Club was cancelled in both 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. Finally, in 2023, it makes its return.

It’s a night promising plenty of laughter and plenty of beer with the tagline“We bring the comedy and drinks, you bring the laughter and cheer.”

Glitterbomb NYE Party

When: 7pm to 2am

Where: 12 Burlington Arcade, Stephenson Street, Birmingham.

The Glitterbomb NYE promises a raunchy night of sass in Birmingham and cabaret drag queen will help make this one of the most fabulous nights of the year.

There will be lip sync battles, group karaoke and plenty of drinks at the Glitterbomb party with guests encouraged to “blind us with your bling” to gain entry.

New Years Eve with The AC30s

When: 7pm to 2am

Where The Blue Piano, 26 Harborne Road, Birmingham.

Now for something a little bit different. The AC30s will be performing at this New Year’s Eve party, playing favourite Reggae and Jamaican Ska hits.

Le Freak: Saturday Night Fever a Night Owl Takeover at The Old Crown

Birmingham’s award-winning premier disco, funk, and boogie night Le Freak, normally held at Digbeth’s The Night Owl is going BIG for New Year’s Eve and taking over The Old Crown for their most ambitious event yet.

Taking inspiration from the golden era of 1970s disco and funk, ‘Soul Train’ television shows, the legendary Studio 54 and the more recent Netflix series ‘The Get Down’, Le Freak is the only night in Birmingham that lets guests strut their stuff in monthly dance offs for both prizes and glory. This year The Night Owl and The Old Crown have teamed up to present a New Year’s Eve party like no other “Le Freak: Saturday Night Fever” at The Old Crown, Digbeth.

Mazzy Snape, promoter of The Night Owl said: “This year New Year’s Eve falls on a Saturday and we couldn’t resist bringing back our most popular “Saturday Night Fever” one-off event, bringing a touch of sparkle to Birmingham’s oldest boozer The Old Crown, utilising their large heated and covered outdoor event space for what will be our biggest party yet! Dig? NYE Party with Bedrock Bullets at The Night Owl

The Night Owl are bringing you a Dig? New Year’s special with fantastic live rockabilly from The Bedrock Bullets. Look forward to resident Night Owl DJs, Ed Edwards, Mazzy Snape, Sonny & Spare & more spinning the very best of a whole heap of Soul plus sprinklings of Mod, 60s rock, Rock n’ Roll, Funk, New Wave, Punk, Indie & more.

A guaranteed great night for the old school music fans out there looking for a welcoming club night experience this NYE.

New Year’s Eve Gala Night

When: 7pm to 2am

Where: Sky By The Water, Resorts World, Pendigo Way, Marston Green, Birmingham.

All your favourite party anthems will be played at this event and to help you celebrate, you will get a free bottle of beer or glass of prosecco as you enter.

There will also be a festive buffet and dancefloor at the Sky By The Water venue. If you want to usher in 2023 in style, this is the one for you.
