Fantasy Premier League managers to take part in charity football game in Birmingham

Castle Vale Stadium in Birmingham will play host to a ‘North vs South’ charity football game between a number of well recognised Fantasy Premier League managers in May 2022.

The event, that has been organised by Twitter personalities Benny Blanco (@Benny_Blanco40) & Ash (@FPLHints) will see some of the most well known content creators in the field from the UK and abroad take to the hallowed turf, all in aid of the charity, Street Child United.

What is Fantasy Premier League?

I once asked myself the same question before a Raul Jimenez tweet changed everything.

Fantasy Premier League or FPL as it’s known and loved is “a game that casts you in the role of a Fantasy manager of Premier League players. You must pick a squad of 15 players from the 2021/22 Premier League, who score points for your team based on their performances for their clubs in PL matches.”

It is hugely popular among football fans and boasts a great online community with some accounts having hundreds of thousands of followers. From YouTube personalities to bloggers to podcasts, you’ll find a bit of everything when scrolling through Twitter.

Competitors on the digital field, the gaffers are joining forces to help out a great cause come season end on the real one.

When and where is the game?

The game takes place on Saturday 28th May (kick-off 14:00), the week after the conclusion of the Premier League campaign.

It will be hosted at Castle Vale Stadium, the home of a number of local sides including Castle Vale Town, Concords FC and Romulus FC.

Castle Vale Stadium, Farnborough Road, Birmingham, B35 7LQ.

The stadium will be open to spectators from 13:15 on the day before the match itself gets underway at 14:00.

Following the match their will be a ceremony for the winners around 16:00 before people will make their way to the exit around 16:15.
