Recently, we’ve had a look at the famous faces - actors, musicians and even politicians - who were raised in and around Birmingham. Now, we’ve decided to take a look at the famous celebrities who grew up in Yardley and Sheldon.

Many famous people grew up in the Birmingham districts which are steeped in history. Yardley has the Tudor hall called Blakesley Hall and an old church, St Edburgha’s, that dates back to the 13th century. The constituency also has five main primary schools. These are Yardley, Blakesley Hall, Lyndon Green, Oasis Academy Hobmoor and St. Bernedettes.

There are also two secondary schools in Sheldon: Cockshut Hill School and King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy. There are five primary schools, one of which is Roman Catholic. Sheldon Library also serves the area.
