West Bromwich fire at Tunnel Road: smoke warning and road closures at factory blaze

Fifty West Midlands Fire Fighters were working through the night to extinguish a factory fire on Tunnel Road in West Bromwich.

Due to large amounts of smoke, residents in the local area were advised to keep their doors and windows closed.

They were also warned that cold temperatures could cause smoke to linger.

Both New Street and Tunnel Road have been closed to support crews.

West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Midlands Police were supporting firefighters to deal with the incident.

There were no reports of injuries.

The business unit is a mix of office space and storage areas.

The cause is not yet known. The fire services are investigating today.
