Small Heath man arrestsed after woman aged in her 20s is murdered

A 27 year old man has been arrested following the death of Shannon Stanley who was found with stab wounds in Small Heath Tuesday morning. The woman who was in her 20s died at the scene and an investigation has been launched. West Midlands Police are appealing for more information.

Number of shop closures in Birmingham over last five yeras revealed as Queens Speech reveals plans to improve high streets

Monday’s Queen’s speech, delivered by Prince Charles, includes measures it believes will help to manage shop closures in the city centres. Birmingham has seen many high profile shop closures in recent months, however since April 2017 a total of 955 shops have closed throughout the city.

Commonwealth Games Baton Relay West Mids route revealed

The route has been revealed for the Queen’s Baton Relay taking place in the West Midlands this summer. The Queen initiated the relay in October, sending the Birmingham made emblem across 72 countries in 269 days, and will visit more than 180 communities in England before returning to the city.
