Plans for a night market and real ale festival on Broad Street unveiled

Major plans for Broad Street have been revealed by the new Chairman of the Westside BID Gerald Manton. The ideas to further energise the iconic golden mile in Birmingham include night markets, a New Years celebration and the biggest real ale festival in the UK.

Birmingham covid cases falling, but still high

Covid cases in Birmingham fell by 2.8% in the last week, with 5233 new cases having been identified. Certain areas of the city have seen a significant increase of infections, with Balsall Heath West & Kingswood road, Handsworth South and Middlemore being among the worst affected.

Investigations continue into hit and run as woman in her 80s dies

A woman in her 80s has died following a hit and run collision on Washwood Heath Road in Ward End on Tuesday. A white VW Golf involved in the incident was recovered nearby. A 28 year old man has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody as police enquiries continue.
