Man jailed for assault

In other news, a man has been jailed after he attacked a woman in Chelmsley Wood earlier this year.

Carl Tymon, 48, was at his home with the victim on the evening of 12 March when he verbally abused and seriously assaulted her. The 40-year-old woman was punched, choked, bitten, kicked and stamped on.

Tymon left the address before returning 30 minutes later and assaulting the victim’s friend as she tried to help her friend who was unconscious on the floor. Household items including a metal vacuum pole and TV were used as weapons.

Carl Tymon, of Loyns Close, Solihull, pleaded guilty to section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and was sentenced to five years and six months in prison at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 27 July.

He was also ordered to pay a £190 victim surcharge fee.
