Small Heath murder: man arrested after Shannon Stanley found dead

Police are appealing for information following the tragic incident and have named the victim

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died in Small Heath this morning (10 May).

A 27-year-old man was arrested following the death of Shannon Stanley, aged 27, who was found with stab wounds at an address on Mount Pleasant.

Sadly, Shannon died at the scene and an investigation has been launched.

Police named her as the victim today (May 11). They said specialist officers are supporting her family.

They said that they arrested the suspect at an address near to the scene at around 1am yesterday morning. He remains in police custody.

Officers also arrested a 24 year-old woman on suspcioun of murder. She has since been released on bail.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police, said: “We’re continuing our enquires in the area and thank everyone who has helped so far by supplying information and CCTV.
