Alarming footage reveals how quickly a thief can steal your vehicle.

It’s a shocking reminder of just how vulnerable we can be.

Police have released the footage while warning that vehicle theft has risen by 37% in the region.

They say criminals can break into cars without keys. Instead they use gadgets.

Some cars that are stolen are then being cut up for parts, making it difficult to trace them once they’re gone.

The advice is contained in the tweet below, including using a steering wheel lock.

Police say: “Protect your car - check your fob has done its job. Use a steerign wheel lock, and keep your keys in a Faraday pouch.”
