An Ozzy Osbourne museum in Birmingham could finally be on the way

Birmingham could be getting its first Ozzy Osbourne museum, his wife Sharon Osbourne revealed during The Osbournes Podcast.

Plans for an Ozzy memorabilia museum in the city where he grew up are underway after the success of the Black Sabbath exhibition in 2019. There have been calls in recent years for a permanent museum to honour the Prince of Darkness.

The 2019 exhibition, which was held by the Home of Metal community project, honoured Birmingham’s influence on the heavy metal genre by producing a three month programme of exhibitions and activities across six venues in the city including the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, attracted 24,000 paying visitors from 52 countries around the world.

And on The Osbournes Podcast recently, Sharon was speaking with her daughter Kelly and son Jack. When discussing what she’d been up to, Sharon said: “I’ve been busy trying to get together daddy’s memorabilia for the memorabilia place that we’re opening in Birmingham.”

When replying to Jack, she added: “He’s having all of his awards, all his stage clothes, posters, old posters from Earth days in the museum. I’ve got so much memorabilia.”

She said the museum will be ‘totally interactive’ and will also have a cafe. She said: “Also, we’re going to have a café attached, and in there we’re going to have every instrument you can think of. Music students can come in and we’re gonna do music classes, because there’s no music at schools anymore.”
