I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! concluded with former football player Jill Scott MBE being crowned the winner. The Lioness star, 35, who was part of the Women’s Euro 2022 winning squad, was greeted by her fiancee, Shelly Unitt, afterwards.

The couple arrived in Manchester after the end of the current season of the reality TV show in Australia. Her fiancee was with her on the return flight. Shelly has been supportive a partner while Jill was shooting for the survival show and the former footballer appreciates her “sacrifices”.

Jill has opened up about finding it difficult while in the jungle as she was missing her fiancee and her family. “But coming out and seeing how proud everyone is makes it all worthwhile,” she told MailOnline.

Her next big plan is to get married to her longtime partner - Shelly.

Shelly also found it hard to stay multiple weeks without communication with Jill. She was able to send a letter to the footballer during week two of the show. She wrote: “Hi Jill it’s Shelly, I love you and miss you so much.

“There isn’t a minute that goes by where you’re not on my mind. I love you so much and now the rest of the world does too. This is because you’re such a great person with your positive, kind and encouraging self. I’ll have a flat white waiting for you, love your biggest fans, Shelly, Evie and Hattie.”

She also told Mirror that it’s been a struggle for her. “Jill with her football went away with tournaments month to month but we always have contact so this has been the first time ever not speaking. So I am really missing her, I think everyone is missing her.”

She further said that her house has become “quiter” and it was her children who convinced her to fly to Australia for the finale. “I have got two daughters as well, Evie and Hattie, and so they are missing her and bouncing around. They will watch the show. They are so proud of Jill and really excited. I didn’t want to leave them at first but they said ‘go go’.”

Who is Shelly Unitt?

Shelly, the sister of former England player Rachel Unitt, grew up in Walsall. Rachel has played for Wolves, Birmingham City, and Solihull Moors in the West Midlands.

Shelly, 37, and Jill, 35, have been together for around six years. Shelly is a community health officer and the co-owner of the coffee shop - Boxx2Boxx. The couple own it together in Manchester.

They opened the popular coffee shop in April 2021, according to the Sun. On its website, they have explained that the shop was named after the footballers role as a box-to-box midfielder during her “illustrious career for club and country”.

Shell talks about herself on the website. She wrote: “When I get time off I love playing board games and cleaning! I enjoy getting out and going for walks with a good coffee!”

When did they get engaged?

The couple got engaged in March 2020 but their wedding plans have not been finalised yet.

Jill told MailOnline: “We got engaged two years ago and Covid hit us, so I think we do need to get some planning in place. It will be nice. We need to sit down and just catch up on the last five weeks and what’s happened but obviously getting engaged, the next plan is to get wed.”

“I have always appreciated our relationship 100 per cent – being able to go off and do football and be away two weeks out of every month it’s so hard for the person that you’re with and the sacrifices they have to do and knowing I had Shelly’s support going into this from day one, if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have been able to do it so we’re a good team.”

While the couple don’t have any kids together, Shelly is mum to two daughters - Evie, 19 and Hattie, 15.
