The Shelbys are set to make their stage debut as part of the upcoming dance adaptation, Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby.

Not only that, but Knight has noted his desire to transfer the Peaky Blinders’ tale onto the big screen and confirmed a film will follow the final series.

With that in mind, here’s everything we know about the film so far.

What will the film be about?

Previously, Knight touched on the plot for the movie, revealing plans for the film to be set during the second World War.

He said: “Peaky – in this incarnation – comes to an end,” Knight said about series six. “But we’re doing a film which will also carry on the family and the stories into the Second World War.”

In a recent interview with Esquire, he added: “The film, I know exactly what it’s about. And I know what two stories it’s going to tell. How the story will unfold, I don’t know. What will happen after that, I want that to depend on the film. For all we know somebody is going to pop out – I think I know who it’s going to be.”

During the interview, Knight also hinted at who will be in the movie, saying: “In series six we’re bringing in the new generation, and they are going to be part of what happens in the film. I think it’s finding those actors that you just watch and you think, there you go. There’s the future.”

Liverpudlian actor Stephen Graham has made his Peaky Blinders debut in series 6, as has Amber Anderson who plays Lady Diana Mitford, and James Frecheville who stars as Jack Nelson - meaning all three could feature in the film based on Knight’s comments.

So far, it’s uncertain exactly who will star in the production, as nothing official has been confirmed.

Although, Knight previously stated that Cillian Murphy, who has played lead Tommy Shelby since the show premiered back in 2013, will reprise his role in the upcoming film.

Speaking to Digital Spy, when asked if Murphy and Paul Anderson (who plays brother Arthur Shelby) would be part of Peaky Blinders in the future, Knight said: “It’s impossible to say yet. But the film – yes.

“It’s now a situation where the world... you know, around the world, the Peaky world, it’s got so much energy, and so much following, and such a huge fanbase, that you think, ‘Well, let’s just carry on.’ So we do.”

Although after the latest episode screened on March 20, it’s now unclear how Tommy would actually make an appearance in the movie.

During episode four of season 6, Murphy’s character is diagnosed with an inoperable condition near his brain called tuburculum. Could this mean the end for his character? What about his elder son who was revealed for the first time in the latest episode?

During the Esquire interview, Murphy himself also cast doubt over whether he would appear in the film.

When asked about about the talk surrounding the movie, he said: “Mmm, talk. I’m open to ideas. I think [Steven] wants to, but I haven’t read anything.”

When will the film be released?
