Ozzy Osbourne to have surgery which could ‘determine the rest of his life’

Sharon Osbourne has said that her husband Ozzy will undergo major surgery that is “really going to determine the rest of his life.”

Speaking on Talk TV, Shannon revealed that she is returning to the US before her husband has the operation on Monday (13 June).

She said: “He has a very major operation on Monday and I have to be there – it’s really going to determine the rest of his life.”

She did not give further details on the surgery, but in a Classic Rock magazine interview last month, Aston-born Ozzy said he was waiting for neck surgery.

He said: “I can’t walk properly these days.

“I have physical therapy every morning. I am somewhat better, but nowhere near as much as I want to be to go back on the road.”

The legendary Black Sabbath frontman also suffers from Parkinson’s disease and emphysema - a lung condition that causes shortness of breath.

In 2003, Aston-born Ozzy suffered a fall and dislodged metal rods placed in his spine following a quad-bike accident in 2003.

The Birmingham rocker also conracted Covid-19 in May, and fortunately made a full recovery.

The couple have been married since 1982 and they have three children together – Aimee, Kelly and Jack.

Sharon revealed in December 2020 that she had tested positive for Covid and had been briefly admitted to hospital.
