Kingstanding: man charged after Just Eat delivery rider is stabbed

An 18-year-old man has been charged after a Just Eat delivery rider was stabbed in Sidcup Road, Kingstanding, earlier this month (March).

The 32-year-old rider was approached by four young men in masks who arrived on two motorbikes and tried to take the bike he was on around 6pm on 2 March.

He was stabbed in the back and suffered a punctured lung, thankfully his injuries were not life threatening.

Police launched an appeal for witnesses and following detailed CCTV enquiries, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery yesterday (22 March).

Luke Smith, of Dyas Road, Great Barr, was charged and is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today.
