West Midlands Police have charged a fifth teenager with the murder of Yahya Sharif, who was stabbed to death in Small Heath on 10 December last year.

Yahya, 18, was attacked by a group just before 5.30pm and suffered a stab wound to his chest.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning (16 February) officers from the Metropolitan Police arrested Abdirahaman Yussuf, aged 19, of no fixed address, in London.

He was charged with murder yesterday (Thursday), and will appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today (Friday).

Four other teenagers – three aged 18 and a 19-year-old – have all been charged with murder and are now in prison on remand awaiting trial.
